Host, John Bowler makes his way from neighborhood to neighborhood, uncovering some regular guys with some pretty wacky garage inventions. In the course of the show, John and every episode's featured inventor take on a brand new contraption together... in an intense, and usually hysterical, 48 hours before they show it off in front of the entire neighborhood! Mark Hamill is hosting an informational tour through the history of science fiction movie-making. The focus is not on special effects and action scenes, but on the relationship between society's hangups and fears and the subject matter of the movies. The effects of the American public's changing paranoias, e.g. the communist scare, is particularly well explored.

Suave amateur detective Tom Lawrence--aka Michael Arlen's literary hero The Falcon--arrives in Hollywood for some rest and relaxation, only to find himself involved in the murder of a movie actor. There's no shortage of suspects: the costume designer to whom he was married, a tyrannical director, a beautiful young French starlet, a Shakespeare-quoting producer, even a New York gangster. Helping The Falcon solve the crime is a cute, wise-cracking cab driver and a pair of bumbling cops.

The Mad, Mad, Mad Comedians is a 1970 American animated television special produced by Rankin/Bass Productions. After the Christmas special Frosty the Snowman (1969), it was Rankin/Bass' second hand-drawn animated work to be outsourced to Osamu Tezuka's Mushi Production in Tokyo, Japan. The show aired on ABC on April 7, 1970 before the airing of that year's Oscars. It was a tribute to early vaudeville, and featured animated reworkings of various famous comedians' acts.
